About Us

Hey there!!
I'm Kayla, the founder of Totoka Collections.
Welcome!!!!
This is my creative and meditation space, a place where I feel joy and belonging, a space where I'm free to create and be present. I chose a name, after my own culture -"Totoka" meaning beautiful in Fijian.
Totoka Collections was founded in 2016, it was inspired by my travels around the world. I was so impresses by peoples boldness with fashion especially with pattern and colour!!! It was empowering seeing people wear these bold beautiful garments unashamedly. The joy that entered my soul when I entered into these rural Zambian Chitenge market stalls, Fijian fabric stores or even the little downtown fabric stores was something else.
I thought how cool would these bold patterns look as a bowtie. I started sewing bowties with a needle and thread, which soon transitioned to buying the cheapest sewing machine I could find and then giving neckties a crack, slowly I have expanded my handmade product range to meaningful statement pieces and clothes.
I am a mother of 2 beautiful wild souls and wifey to a very handsome, crafty husband Manaaki. I like to rope my family into all my creative pursuits, so you will definately see them from time to time modelling my products and doing other things. Manaaki will be taking care of the custom engraving and carving sides of things. He is an artist.
My sister Senae is also behind the scenes, she's an organiser extraodinaire and brings the best vibes. She often helps me out with markets. So if you ever visit one of our pop up stalls, you will most likely meet her too. I appreciate it if you have made it this far. Thanks for showing some love to our website. Don't hesitate to contact us with any queries.
